you sharpened your wits,
eviscerated me.
must have caught up on some
heavy reading;

mouthing my most used titles
from across the room.
safe distance you always put between me,
yourself, and the ones who warm you
in between; the “friends” you
picked over me.   I’m a tiger,
a spider,
a mind reader and a
             say my name
I can see you quiver,
smell fresh blood from
miles away.
I can stalk or I can sit pretty
and weave it right back to me.

my alarm is dripping from
your friend’s entrails
while I keep it together,
quickly straighten
the crease that has formed
in my pencil skirt.
my inward ingredients are showing:
I have a penchant for hyperbole and
strong, rubicund drink so sometimes
I’m reckless when I think.
you are outdoing me
in silence but you too possess
be proud of the carnivore you are.
I can see your meals
teeming over your tonsils
wearing your throat.
you dress it up but I can see every
woman you fucked
and discarded
as the breath falls away from your body,
your toes brush the carpet,
you turn blue as the bay
and I feel heavy like the moon
breaking up with the tides.
I sense your compunction
at having Asian for dinner
over me.

you prefer to be
cuffed to the post
     say my name
but she can’t tie a proper knot.
my heels stomp through the kitchen:
handle out, blade in.
I’ll help her fashion the bleeding noose
that you crave.
it seems you hope to die
in a cathedral
so I become rows of stained glass.
my intestines prefer to leave the safety
of their window cubby holee
      snip snip

ride up your legs like
long, black snakes
         say my name, babe
and wear your neck
like a rope.
